What would be cuter for a first birthday cake?
My daughter turns 1 on August 22. I am hoping to make her cake myself, but I don't have much experience with baking. Her bedroom is giraffe-themed, and she has two stuffed pigs that she takes with her pretty much everywhere we go.

I've never worked with fondant icing before but know the basic principles, and I think if I make my decision now, I can start practicing!
So what do you think is cuter?
Erin,. that's a good point! Although if I did go with the pig, I could make a smaller buttercream pig cake for her to smash, haha.
Barfly, that is dumb. A 12 month old is not going to pick out a specific color over others, and is not going to be physically capable of helping decorate a cake. Do you even have kids?!
They are both cute, but I like the giraffe the best. I think it would be messier for the classic 1 year picture, too!
