Can someone identify this knife?
It is an old army knife I think but I'm not sure. It has a small round compass at the bottom of the handle, and it is 11 inches long (from tip of blade to end of compass). It was my grandpa's and he only served in World War Two, so I'm not sure if it was from WWII or if he just was collecting knives. The handle is black, and it has a small guard at the top of the handle. If it helps the blade says 420 Stainless Taiwan. Please tell me what it is.
I have one of those, there cheap junk. The blade is literally bolted onto the handle through the hollow part. BTW if we really have the same kind of knife, then the pommel (where the compass is) will unscrew and there will be a hollow space for putting survival gear in (fishhooks and tackle, matches). But the fact that it belonged to your grandpa, should make it invaluable to you, if you take care of it (don't try to throw it, etc,...), then it should last you the rest of your life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gj9CMvwfv4
The above link is a You Tube video of the kind of knife I have.
