Which is easier? Creating a fondant cake topper/ decoration or frozen buttercream transfer?

I wanted to make a cake for my son's first birthday which is in about a month. I wanted to know which would be easier to create. A fondant cake topper or frozen buttercream transfer. I don't NO experience with either but am confident in my crafty / arty-ness.

PS. I would use the pre-made Wilton fondant.

Any advice, tips, links would be greatly appreciated!
Or would that be a marzipan cake topper?

If you have plenty of time to make it, I think the fondant figures would be the easiest to make and you could start them any time and would be sure you had them for his birthday.
I think the figures are fondant and not marzipan. Marzipan is not pure white and does not take the bright colors like the ones in your photo are.

I personally would make the frozen buttercream transfer because I do not like to eat fondant.

I would check on youtube for clips showing how to model with fondant, ice cakes, cover cakes with fondant. Read everything you can find about it. You are going to need more information that what anyone can give you on here.

This decorator is the best at modeling with fondant, as far as I am concerned.
